Connecting Students to Technology-Driven Careers in Banking

As technology continues to reshape the financial services industry, it’s critical that students understand how STEM skills translate into real-world careers within banking, not just within fintech startups, but inside regulated financial institutions that serve communities every day.

The Idaho Bankers Association is partnering with West Ada School District to support an upcoming career event on February 26 from 6:00–7:00 p.m. The goal of the event is to expose students to modern, technology-driven career pathways and help them better understand how banking and fintech intersect.

We are seeking banking professionals who can speak to careers that rely heavily on technology, including:

  • Digital and mobile banking
  • Data analytics and business intelligence
  • Cybersecurity and fraud prevention
  • Risk management and compliance technology
  • Payments systems and financial operations
  • Technology integration and innovation within banks

These roles are technology-driven banking positions that often involve implementing fintech solutions within a regulated environment. Banking professionals bring a practical, real-world perspective that helps students understand how STEM skills are applied in secure, mission-critical financial systems.

Participation in events like this not only supports workforce development, it also helps position banking as a forward-looking industry with meaningful career opportunities for the next generation.

Bankers interested in participating, or learning more about this opportunity, are encouraged to contact Lisa Adams at the Idaho Bankers Association at ladams@idahobankers.org.
