EMERGING LEADERS
The Emerging Leaders Program is a development program created to find Idaho’s next banking professionals who will carry our state’s financial industry into the future. Developed through a collaborative partnership between IBA and member banks, Emerging Leaders provides an educational opportunity for young, ambitious bankers who want to learn how to grow into effective, trustworthy industry leaders. If you have any questions about the program, please contact IBA and our team will be in touch.

SESSIONS
Throughout this yearlong leadership program, future leaders will gain insight into the importance of developing tools that help them gain self-improvement, as well as the skills required to be able to manage a team productively. Those accepted into the program are expected to commit to the entire year of learning, consisting of eight full-day sessions covering four topics, and require active participation.
DEVELOPING SELF
In the first session, Emerging Leaders will examine the five core values of self-management: managing authority with humility, communicating effectively, managing time with purpose, displaying and maintaining emotional health, and achieving personal versatility.
MANAGING OTHERS
In the second session, examine the essentials of leading others: creating a climate of trust where people thrive, discovering and developing the skills and talents of individuals, and building team cohesiveness and productivity.
The Bigger Picture- Leadership, Policy & Industry Impact
Step back from the day-to-day of banking to explore how public policy, leadership, and industry engagement shape the financial landscape. Hear from a diverse group of professionals who share real-world stories, lessons learned, and insights on the forces that influence how banks operate, grow, and lead in their communities.
Values in Action: Becoming a Leader Others Want to Follow
This session empowers banking leaders to elevate their influence and impact—both within their institutions and in their communities. Through the lens of Emotional Intelligence, participants will explore key EQ habits that strengthen relationships, improve decision-making, and build trust. The session also delves into the principles of ethical leadership, helping leaders make confident, values-based decisions that inspire credibility and integrity across their teams.
